Mallory, you are an amazing specimen.

Please forgive mama for accepting praise from complete strangers for your many gifts and talents. I know that these things are truly beyond my control. I’m so proud of you for the following:

• rolling over 7 times last night. you finally let daddy see what all the fuss is about.
• your unusually long eyelashes.
• sleeping in public. Apparently this is a HUGE DEAL since everyone likes to point out to me that you are sleeping.

If I have to sum up the most adorable thing about my daughter, today's choice would be toe fuzz. Not for what it is, but what it represents. Because her feet are always in those footy-pajama type outfits, her toes tend to get sweaty, making it an ideal place for fuzz to cling.You can not imagine the struggle she gives when I attempt to remove the aforementioned fuzz. It's hers, she created it and she'd like to keep it, thank you very much. I am humbled by the force with which she clenches her toes together, clinging to the fuzz with every ounce of her 12 lbs. And then it hits me…one day she will use this will power against me. I am so done.

Today the ladies from the office held a "Welcome Mallory" party. Since I received so many things from your cousin Emily they decided to have a baby welcoming shower after you arrived instead of before. You received lots of cute clothing, a few toys and dinnerware and even some art supplies. With so much excitement what could you do but fall asleep?
